Nursery contributed plant descriptions

Epimedium x ~ Thick, deep green, spiny leaflets topped in spring by cherry red & creamy yellow flowers. The inner sepals have undulations to their shape, resembling flames flicking upwards. Drought tolerant once established. Plant nearly full sun to nearly full shade. Height: 14” Zones 5-9. Semi-Evergreen.
One of my very favorites and I'm surprised this fine hybrid from Darrell Probst doesn't get more attention (You and I can change that!). It has it all. First I noticed the gorgeous fall/winter foliage in rich plum-chocolate. The flowers consist of richly colored outer sepals, of which the long, creamy-yellow spurs protrude. All this comes with a good, above average drought tolerance. Semi-evergreen and clumping.
