Each lovely 4-5 inch needle on this handsome 20-30' tree has a brilliant yellow band in the center. Looking down the branch you can imagine it to be the shining golden-eye of a dragon! This tree makes a fabulous focal point. Withstands summer heat, but does require protection from winter wind. S/M/GDr
A fantastic variety of the extraordinary Korean pine, this upright, variegated evergreen has long, soft blue-green needles banded with yellow. The 4-5 needles have a downward turn like those of 'Jack Korbit and produce a graceful, weeping look. Variegat
Pinus koraiensis 'Oculus Draconis' A variegated form of Korean Pine. The variegation does not show very well, but the leaves make up for that. The leaves are extra long and green blue, and have a kink to the needle, giving the plant a false weeping look.
This evergreen conifer is the 'Dragon's Eye' form of the Korean pine. Yellow banding on the needles is most apparent on established trees in colder climates. Long, soft, green needles radiate from the stems, and then twist downward, giving the tree a weeping look. Growth Rate medium, 6-12" annually
Dragon Eye Pine. Shiny gold and green banded needles. Hardy to zone 4. They say it is somewhat deer resistant, though I can't say as much for rabbits, so it needs some protection while it is still small. Full sun, but protect from winter wind. Hardy to zone 4.

Strong yellow variegation rings the needles of this highly desirable oriental pine. A must for the Japanese garden or the collector of the rare and unusual!

I have not seen the tree that these scions were taken from (Talon's stock plant) but in general Pinus koraiensis 'Oculus Draconis' does not show strong variegation especially when young, conifer collectors still lust after it however, always hoping it will throw a strongly variegated shoot in the manner of Pinus densiflora 'Red OD Burke'.
Needles are cross banded with gold and green through the wintertime. Great fun in holiday wreaths, if supply permits. Moderate growth to 20' tall.
