Nursery contributed plant descriptions

An incredible glowing red-purple. The first blooms will be an odd purple and we worried it wasn't the correct plant, but it changed drastically with age. Hardy to probably 0° F. The flowers can be up to 12" across in March.
Spectacularly large, vividly rich-magenta flowers can be 10-12"! Winter flower buds are attractive with their characteristically dense covering of soft gray fur protecting the blooms inside them from the cold. This deciduous tree has a lovely open branched habit and becomes a rounded 15- 20' specimen with lush deep green foliage. A Felix Jury hybrid of M. cambellii var. mollicomata 'Lanarth' x M. liliiflora which makes a wonderful addition to any garden! S/M
(M. cambellii var. mollicomata 'Lanarth' x M. liliiflora) Rounded form with age, in youth this small tree is more erect and open. Huge, heavy textured, rosy-pink blooms appear in the spring. Growth Rate medium
Spectacular large, ruby-red flowers and compact size characterize this trouble-free nursery plant. Even the large winter flower buds are ornamentally appealing with their distinctively thick protective covering of brownish gray "fur" to shield them from the cold. In full bloom, this short plant is un-rivaled for attractiveness because the blooms are so up easy to see up close.
This is a highly sought after, very dark flowered selection of Tulip or Saucer Magnolia which produces large deep reddish-purple fragrant flowers in early spring just before the foliage emerges. A vigorous growing small deciduous tree that can reach 25' H x 25'W.
Jury hybrid of M. cambellii var. mollicomata 'Lanarth' x M. liliiflora. A truly magnificent Magnolia with 10", cup-shaped flowers of the deepest rose-red. They are of heavy texture, and the red color is on both surfaces of the tepals, very rich! Flowers with a rosebud shape open in spring, showing a large number of tepals with softly waved margins. Though it blooms at an early age, flowers on young plants show lighter coloration. The tree is deciduous, erect in habit, open branched, and narrowly rounded, growing to a height of about 20'. Stunning, young or old!
