Nursery contributed plant descriptions

This hybrid combines the beautiful burgundy foliage of Crimson Frost with some of Whitespire's birch borer resistance and adds bright yellow-to-orange-to-red fall color. S/M Patent: Evergreen Nursery
This deciduous tree has elegant, dark purple-green leaves with red veins during spring and summer. Fall color is orange to red. Best foliage color is obtained in full sun. The bark of new growth is dark in color, developing to creamy white as the tree matures. Good tree for providing filtered shade. This stunning tree is a hybrid between Betula platyphylla x B. pendula purpurea 'Crimson Frost' and Betula platyphylla var. japonica 'Whitespire'. Growth Rate moderate
Royal Frost® has lovely burgundy foliage that turns yellow-orange to red in fall and accents the beautiful cinnamon to white bark. It was specifically bred for good looks and resistance to the bronze birch borer. PPAF
