Nursery contributed plant descriptions

This venerable heirloom was shared by Native Americans at the beginning of our history as a nation. This is one squash we will never be without, for we love its rich yellow color and substantial creamy flesh— it’s never watery! Wonderfully flavorful, its swan-necked fruits must be picked when on the small side around 6-8” long, for the best tenderness and seeds that are still small at this stage. A compact bushy grower, it can fit in any garden and keeps producing until summer wanes.
