Nursery contributed plant descriptions

Blanketed with showy orange ?trumpets? during late-summer/fall, this vigorous vine (30-50'), makes an excellent summer screen. S/M-D
This Hummingbird magnet is a North American native that blooms in summer. Also called Trumpet Vine. It is very vigorous and can run. Those with smaller spaces may want to consider Campsis Morning Calm which has showier flowers and is better behaved.
Clusters of 3" long orange to orange and red trumpets adorn this vigorous native vine throughout summer. An excellent choice for hummingbirds. Trumpet Creeper's vigor, tolerance of poor soils, and durability lend it to use in difficult sites. Use as an espalier, allow it to climb a sturdy fence, or cover an arbor. Trumpet Creeper is an aggressive and rampant vine that should be planted in area where it can be contained as it may sucker aggressively. Mowing will typically control suckers. Trumpet Creeper climbs via aerial roots and may damage concrete or wood surfaces.
Native to both the US and China. Dark green foliage emerges in late spring becoming golden yellow in autumn. Attaches itself to walls w/out special supports or will ramble along the ground. Superb on fences & trellises. Can be kept smaller by early spring pruning. Best flowers in sun. Takes 2-3 years to establish then very robust.
