Nursery contributed plant descriptions

Introduced from Chile, this stunning flower, also called painted tongue, has trumpet-shaped flowers in jewel tones of purple, violet, yellow, pink, and orange, with many bi-colors; all are deeply veined in contrasting color. A relative of the petunia, the stems are sticky to touch, but none the less it makes a long-lasting and unique cut flower. Provide organic, moist but well-drained soils. Best in cool to moderate summer areas as it dislikes high heat.
