?One of our southeastern treasures just waiting to be used? (L. Foote), this high-climbing native with its showy 2" yellow and red tubular flowers and mostly evgrn foliage is ideal for walls, large trellises, or fences. S/M
US Native. Crossvine is the common name for Bignonia capreolata. It is a beautiful semi-evergreen or evergreen , self-clinging vine that will scramble up a trellis or any other support quickly and easily. It is hardy and relatively pest free. The deep red buds in spring open to reveal a cheery yellow inside and will attract hummingbirds! Prune as desired.
Semi-evergreen, self-clinging vine. Handsome foliage & flowers are principal ornamental features. Excellent for covering a fence or trellis. Should be more widely used. Foliage is not as heavy as many vines, so it's good for lighter weight trellises or where you don't want a solid cover. Mocha scented blooms. Takes deep shade but flowers better with sun.
