Chosen for its reliably brilliantly deep red fall color, this mid-size (20-35') western native shrub/tree will set your hedge/shrub border alive in fall! S-PSh/M
The 7-9 lobed, deeply incised serrated leaves have 3 seasons of color. New leaves emerge maroon maturing to green and then in fall a combination of green and red. This originated as a seedling of A. circinatum in close proximity of several A. palmatum cultivars and is thought to be a hybrid of both. The translation means "color in all seasons".
"Color in all Seasons," 'Ki setsudoe' is maroon in early spring, green in summer, and green to more and more red in fall. Morning sun only or bright or dappled shade, and regular water to establish will make a multi-trunked large shrub of 8-12' high and wide. Thought to be a natural hybrid seedling of the larger Acer circinatum, its growth rate is about half and could make it a nice candidate for a large pot.
This unique maple is a hybrid between the Pacific Vine Maple and the traditional Japanese Acer palmatum. New leaves emerge a beautiful orangey-red color with pronounced leaf veins. Later, the foliage acquires a lighter color scheme, creating a wonderful canopy.
Acer circinatum 'Ki setsudoe' - Thought to be a hybrid seedling of Acer circinatum. Growth rate is about half that of Acer circinatum, and its natural tendency is to grow into a multi-trunked large shrub of 8-12' height and width. The name means "color in all seasons".
PALMATUM, red. This is a relatively fast growing tree rose colored foliage. In fall it is a strong crimson.
