Aquilegia fragrans is a broadleaf deciduous perennial with green foliage. In spring and summer cream and lavender flowers emerge. Attracts bees, butterflies and hummingbirds making it an excellent addition to pollinator gardens. Grows well with sun - dappled shade and even moisture - regular water. Does well in average, rich and well-drained soil. A good option if you're seeking something verticillium wilt resistant.

Native to sub-alpine meadows in the western Himalayas, A. fragrans has large, nodding, short-spurred flowers with pale yellow/cream sepals and white petals that are sometimes subtly tinged with light blue - a beauty! The flowers have a sweet, honeysuckle fragrance and bloom in spring. 1-1/2'T x 1' W and clumping. Minimum temperature: -20°F
One of the most beautiful of all columbines, this species has large flowers of white to cream-white that are actually fragrant! A great garden or container specimen. Native to Kashmir. Rarely offered and very choice.
