Nursery contributed plant descriptions

A member of the myrtle family, this Amomyrtus grows over 60 feet tall in the rainforests of Chile. It has signature small white flowers similar to those of its relative, Amomyrtus luma, and its leaves emit a citrus-like smell. In late summer or fall, the flowers will yield small black berries, similar to those of Luma. Despite requiring consistent watering throughout the year, this evergreen plant can also handle temperatures well below freezing. In the short term, it's a great selection for a tall bush but its placement should be mindful of its fully mature size. Cold hardy to USDA zone 8b and above, or to 15 degrees Fahrenheit.
