Nursery contributed plant descriptions

Known as the "Gilded Candelabra Aloe" or the "Striped African Torch Aloe." This popular cultivar of Aloe arborescens offers a unique twist on the classic succulent, characterized by its distinctive stripes.

Renowned for its slower growth and more compact size, the Gilded Candelabra Aloe produces long, arching rosettes with thick, large leaves. These leaves, slightly recurved at the ends, showcase an enchanting variegated strip pattern, adding a touch of elegance to its overall appearance. Under favorable conditions, this cultivar can reach heights of up to 10 feet (3 m).

While resilient in various conditions, it's worth noting that the Gilded Candelabra Aloe exhibits a preference for partial sun, showing less tolerance for full sun and high heat compared to the standard Aloe arborescens.

Variegated form!! A rambling, long stemmed aloe with stacks of long, rubbery toothed leaves growing up and down the stem, which has subtle pinstriping. Offsets regularly and looks best when staked or in hanging baskets. Will form a nice, eye catching colony quickly. Can get quite large! Mature rosettes up to 2 feet across and can get up to 6 feet tall. RED flowers. 5" pots.
