Nursery contributed plant descriptions

This is a rarely grown and even more rarely offered species closely related to hookeri and faucium. Tubular bell-shaped pink flowers in early spring. The most outstanding feature of this species is the remarkable bark, smooth, liquid-brown with no flaking or peeling – from the smallest twig to the base of the sinuous trunk. Our first offering in many, many years, these are grown from seed collected in the wild. Best in mild coastal gardens or similar situations.
