    Cistus ladanifer var. sulcatus 'Mallorca' is a broadleaf evergreen shrub with green foliage. In spring and summer red and white flowers emerge. Attracts bees and butterflies making it an excellent addition to pollinator gardens. Grows well with sun and occasional - low water. Drought tolerant once established. Prefers to be dry in summer. Adapts to various soil conditions. Does well in acidic, alkaline, average, clay, gritty, lean, rocky and well-drained soil. A good option if you're seeking something heat tolerant, seaside / salt tolerant, verticillium wilt resistant and wind tolerant.

    A wild selection from our good friend and island hopper Kevin Hughes, recently of Spinner’s Nursery, Hampsted. He spotted it as a witch’s broom. The leaves are small and delicate but the flowers retain the overwhelming size of the ‘normal plant’. To 2 ft tall and wide. Full sun, good drainage, and very little summer water to avoid root problems. Frost hardy in mid USDA zone 8.
