Magnolia x wieseneri is a broadleaf deciduous shrub or tree with green foliage. In summer red and white flowers emerge. Attracts bees making it an excellent addition to pollinator gardens. Grows well with mostly sun - mostly shade and regular water. Adapts to various soil conditions. Does well in average and well-drained soil.

Nursery contributed plant descriptions

We grew and sold this superb plant for 15-20 years, but we can't propagate it. We finally found a source and have a small number available. The ivory flowers have beautiful maroon stamens in May-July. The scent is tropical and is very powerful. Superb.
