Hamamelis vernalis 'Quasimodo' plant details

A perfect witch hazel for a smaller space. Vase-shaped like most witch hazels, Hamamelis 'Quasimodo' has a small footprint, only a few feet wide. Shorter, achieving a max height of 6-7 feet after many years or even decades. Plant it where you can see it well during the colder months, so you can properly appreciate its fall color and the bold display of fragrant coppery flowers densely pack on bare branches in winter. Bring a few stems of flowers indoors to enjoy the fragrance. Easy to care for, you can opt to prune to refine the shape, otherwise maintenance pruning is unnecessary. If you do prune, do so after the bloom is finished, as witch hazels bloom on the previous year's wood.

Hamamelis vernalis 'Quasimodo' is a broadleaf deciduous shrub with green foliage. In winter orange flowers emerge. Attracts bees and hummingbirds making it an excellent addition to pollinator gardens. Grows well with sun - dappled shade and regular water. Does well in average, rich and well-drained soil.
