Nursery contributed plant descriptions

Rosettes of soft gray green slightly hairy foliage are produced endlessly on this Sempervivum relative. All it asks is a soil that is quick draining: on top of a retaining wall, in a rockery or alpine trough. It will not grow much more than 3-4 "tall, and will spread along as it has room. As the mother rosette ages, she will begin to set flowers, then go to seed and die. There will be so many babe awaiting to fill in the space you'll never miss her.
A cheery little European mountain native with quickly spreading dense evergreen rosettes of bright green, each under an inch, spreading to form a 3" x 18" "ground cover" in but one season. Pale yellow flowers produced in spring. Excellent for rock garden or green wall/roof with a little extra summer water. USDA zone 5, if not colder. Sun to dappled shade.
