Nursery contributed plant descriptions

This exceptionally-dense, miniature conifer has shiny, dark-green needles that are set so densely on the plant that it is nearly impenetrable. As one of the slowest-growing firs, this plant is a collector's gem!
Connoisseur's dwarf Alpine Fir. This was found by Bita and Alton Duflon in the early 50's while hiking at Lake Cushman in the Olympic Mountains of Washington State. Incredibly short growth of 1/2" or less per year appeals to the dwarf conifer collectors as well as the native plant contingent but we notice most of these go to that broad category of plant nut. A nice plant of this in your garden is license for a certain amount of deserved hauteur. A plant for cool climates.
