Pittosporum illicioides [DJHT1084 narrow leaf]

From an ex Taiwan collection by Dan Hinkley and in Taiwan you get the extreme expression of the species with very narrow lanceolate leaves which is often listed as var. angustifolium although this and other varieties are no longer recognized. The validity of this is demonstrated by the seedlings which come up in reasonably equal numbers of narrow leaves and broad leaves despite all seed coming from a narrow leaf form. We've picked out the narrow leaf ones for you. Great evergreen for zone 8 and warmer and happy in milder gardens here in the Seattle area. To 10' with white flowers in late spring and small black fruit in mid to late summer.
