Nursery contributed plant descriptions

A selection by Paul Held who used to be the main fancier of Primula sieboldii until his fancies took him elsewhere. Flowers of good size with a soft lavender cast and paler center. Paul grew this in Michigan so this is amply hardy and easy to grow. This appreciates bright shade and can grow in a fair amount of sun in cooler coastal gardens. Surely we have mentioned this in other descriptions but this Japanese native can cope with a bit of dryness in the latter half of summer and will go dormant earlier as a result. We water the heck out of ours and it is quite happy as well.
