Anemone nemorosa 'Blue Bonnet' is a broadleaf deciduous perennial with green foliage. In spring blue flowers emerge. Attracts bees making it an excellent addition to pollinator gardens. Anemone nemorosa is a charming woodland ground cover that produces cute little one inch wide flowers in early spring above nicely dissected foliage. 'Blue Bonnet' has rich purple-blue flowers with silvery white undersides. Known as wood anemone or windflower, plant them around dark flowered hellebores to help show them off against the dark soil or as an ephemeral ground cover beneath deciduous trees and shrubs. They will go dormant in mid to late summer.

'Blue Bonnet' has large flowers of a particular blue imbued with a touch of gray to soften it towards the pastel and these flowers occur a touch later in spring than most varieties. This is essentially a bulbous plant with creeping twiggy rhizomes which allows this to go dormant as summer rolls along. Excellent for underplanting under shrubs and trees or standing alone as patch where it can cover later arrivals such as lilies which will carry the load after this has done its thing and possibly gone dormant.
