Nursery contributed plant descriptions

This new addition to the palette of American gardeners has wide leaves which keep their attractive bronzy color even in the shade with Hostas. PSh/M
Unusual perennial with cayenne-chocolate color foliage that resembles parsley, wrapped around 18" stems…clumps out about 1' wide – Subtle pink flowers from red buds in summer – Prefers light shade, but tolerates more sun or shade – Not fussy about soils – Tolerates some drought when established – This species deserves more attention!!
I'm rather fond of this plant, a neat little clump growing 1-2 feet tall with very dark purple-brown leaves. It has very small light pink/lavender flowers in the summer, but the real point here is the foliage. It will take anything from sun to shade, and the dark leaves make everything around it look wonderful. In our climate, it self-sows with admirable restraint, but I know that further South and in the Pacific NW it can be a terrible weed, so plant with care. Zone 5.
Dark leaves, small pink flowers, self seeding part- shade plant.
Chocolate colored maple-like foliage is always attractive. Branching stems to 18" terminate with tiny pale pink flowers. Not long-lived but self-sows.
