Moderate-growing evergreen shrub with an upright growth habit to 5′ tall x 3′ wide. Prized for its striking glossy red leaves with brownish colored margins this highly attractive variety is well suited as a single impact specimen or can be planted in multiples to form a low dense hedge. Looks especially great when contrasted with brightly colored flowers or shrubs. Insignificant pale-green flowers appear in spring. Relatively disease and pest free and prefers a slightly acidic well-drained soil and moderate watering. Performs best in a sun to partial shade exposure.
