Found in sunny sites in the California foothills, these are easy to grow in sun, needing no summer moisture once established but tolerating some. Intense, electric blue flowers make this a low maintenance source of high voltage color! A good performer in warm climates, producing multiple stems with branched spikes of blue flowers, of a color more often found in primadonna delphiniums. Attracts bees, butterflies and is heat tolerant. Easily grown in average, dry to medium, well-drained soils in full sun. Avoid wet, poorly-drained soils. Flowering may be prolonged if spent flower stalks are removed.
