This majestic native fern can reach 4-6' tall where it has adequate moisture. This distinct and lush fern has large leathery fronds which give it a most unusual appearance as it forms large, primeval looking clumps. This is an enchanting fern from the bogs and marshes across the eastern United States. It is delightful planted by a pond, but can be enjoyed in drier sites as well, where it will only reach 2-3'.
