Quick to flower and selected for its superb garden performance, 'Maximus Yellow Blotch' has colorful, open-faced, yellow, 2" blooms with distinctive cranberry-red spots on the petals. This is the first grandiflora mimulus variety and the flowers are larger and showier than other mimulus. It starts flowering when day length is only 12.5 hours long, so it flowers earlier and continues flowering later in the growing season. Usually grown as an annual in containers or garden borders, it performs well in full or partial sun. In our test gardens, the flowers seemed to be more vivid and last longer when grown in partial sun.
