Nursery contributed plant descriptions

This yellow magnolia has a rich fragrance, is easy-to-bloom and revered in South East Asia for its egg-like shape. Easily grown in pots, its flowers form on the growing tips of its upright stems. The flowers last only a day and characteristically never fully open. But don't be fooled, its fragrance is just as sweet as the fully open varieties. Give moderate light for fast vertical growth, however, periodic pruning is needed to maintain size. Prune in late winter or early spring so as not to miss the summer blooms.
