Nursery contributed plant descriptions

A Brazilian native, this Dutchman's Pipe has distinctive flowers in patterns of mottled cream and deep maroon. When nestled in between the heartshaped, light green leaves, these bizarre flowers remind us of the creative energies of nature. Grow in a basket or train this vine on a trellis in full to partial sun and many 'pipes" will appear intermittently throughout the year. Our heaviest bloom-time in the greenhouses is summer. These flowers are meant to be admired from a distance because they do have the same smell as most aristolochias.
