Nursery contributed plant descriptions

Often called a 'Show Stopper," this vigorous cultivar flowers during the long days of the year with blooms that seem to go on forever. Although not a true double flower, the bracts are full in form like cultivars of M. philippica. It tolerates the shorter days of winter in the north better than any other variety we've tried. Under warm bright conditions, it continues to grow and bud where others will slip into a near deciduous dormancy. Prune after flowering to restructure its form and it will quickly respond and return to flowering.
