Ipomoea acuminata flowers earlier when planted in a pot and can be nicely trained on a stake, trellis or grown as a topiary. When grown in sunrooms or greenhouses, blooms last a full day fading into purple as the day ends. It is a rapid grower, flowering year-round in full sun. Although tolerant to cool nights, it prefers warmer temperatures above 60°F for best flowering and growth.
