Hedychium spicatum is a broadleaf deciduous perennial bulb / corm / tuber with green foliage. In fall and summer yellow flowers emerge. Grows well with sun and even moisture water. Does well in average, rich and well-drained soil. A good option if you're seeking something verticillium wilt resistant.
This species is one of the hardiest in the genus. It blooms in August with pale yellow, butterfly-like flowers and bright red stamens. Full sun in rich soil with abundant moisture during the growing season. Mulch with fallen leaves in winter. In colder regions grow in a pot or store in dry peat moss and keep above zero.
