Flowers late winter-early spring, round clusters of waxy, FRAGRANT, yellow flowers on bare branches. A Daphne relative that appreciates similar culture: acidic well-drained soil, protection from icy winds, regular moisture and AM sun or light shade.
Edgeworthia hails from the same family as daphnes and shares some of their desirable characteristics while being easier to grow. It is a stout shrub with several widely branched trunks from the base and exceptionally long tropical-looking leaves that are coloured deep green above, grey-green below. The golden yellow fragrant flowers are borne in pendulous clusters in early spring. Best in moist soil and filtered light. A stunning plant all year long.
