A favorite at heirloom tomato taste testings, this sweet, rich, smokey tasting heirloom reportedly comes from the Cherokee tribe of native Americans. It has oblong fruits that are purple-brown in color, the shoulders often showing the most dark color. Multicolored inside with pink, purple and brown; green inside indicates it is not quite ripe. An indeterminate type that keeps on climbing, it needs good support."

Cherokee Purple' is a dusky rose 19th century heirloom tomato with 8-12 oz. round fruits with complex, old-time, often smoky flavour. Perfect for slicing, sandwiches, and burgers. 75-85 days. Indeterminate. Mighty Mato Tomatoes are hand grafted onto super strong tomato rootstock which provides greater disease resistance, greater cold tolerance (so tomatoes start growing faster in the spring), and great yield.
