Wands of flowers /w spikes that are very unusual in that they open first at the top. This white form goes w/ every other plant in your garden & does it well. Excellent cut flower, butterfly attracter, disliked by deer & grows in the poorest soil, takes part shade -- pretty hard to beat! Strongly drought tolerant. More compact than various species.

An excellent late summer vertical of longlasting white fluffy flowerheads on a dense spike. Interestingly, flowers begin to bloom from the top of the spike and open towards the bottom. The foliage is linear and lance-like. Lovely as a cut flower. Photo courtesy of Walters Gardens.
