Nursery contributed plant descriptions

Olea 'Leccino' together with 'Frantoio' are the principal raw material for Italian olive oils from Tuscany. But due to 'Leccino's highly valued sweet flavour it has become increasingly popular to grow in other countries. It is one of the best cultivars adapted to cold growing conditions and is likely the hardiest of all olives. 'Leccino' requires a pollinator of another different olive. Grow in hot, sunny, sheltered positions.
