A fantastic groundcover for shade; this natural dwarf creates a mat that is two feet wide and only 2-3" tall which covers its miniature spreading foliage (chocolate-colored in spring turning green in summer) with shining, bright-blue flower spikes. S-PSh/M
Chocolate Chip Ajuga is a spreading perennial ground cover with small narrow foliage that forms a dense mat. Outstanding ground cover that thrives under tree and shrub canopies. Ideal for planting between stepping stones and crevices, and for excellent foliage contrast in containers.  Chocolate Chip Ajuga grows best in partial to full shade, but can thrive in sun with consistent moisture. Deer and rabbit resistant. The leaves are a mix of chocolate/purple and green.  Light blue flower spikes stand upright above the low foliage.
Zn 3. Narrow chocolate-brown foliage. Dwarf.
Cute little lanceolate leaves on this somewhat dwarf form of Ajuga. Lovely chocolate-colored foliage. I can't comment on the flowers yet as I've just obtained it this Summer. But the foliage is darling.
Dwarf perennial with bluish-purple flower spikes that appear in late spring, atop chocolate colored foliage with burgundy highlights. Growth Rate medium
This hybrid ajuga was introduced by a nursery in Italy called Valfredda for which it is named. The powers that be in North America thought that Ajuga 'Valfredda' didn't have enough market appeal so on our side of the pond it's called 'Chocolate Chip'. It's all just too complicated for this cute little ajuga with small burgundy leaves and deep blue flowers. Combine with gold foliage for a bold contrast.
A new arrival from Italy, this unique Ajuga offers tiny, reddish chocolate-brown foliage. Spreading with vigor, the narrow lustrous leaves form a finely textured, close-knit ground cover trimmed by 6 in. tall spikes of bright blue flowers. For a warmly colored tapestry effect, plant 'Chocolate Chip' en masse with Acaena 'Purpurea' alongside.
Very showy spikes of violet blue flowers above mats of chocolate foliage. ZONE 4
This natural dwarf offers narrow chocolate-colored foliage and lacy blue flowers held 3" above the tight, low foliage. Color is best in full sun or part-shade in mild climates. Excellent small-scale groundcover.
A dwarf variety with 1/2" wide dark chocolate leaves growing 2-3" tall...blue flower spikes in april-may...likes shade.
This is the newest thing in ajuga. Leaves are longer and narrower than ususal and grow more upright than typical. Colors are similar to Bronze Ajuga.
