Nursery contributed plant descriptions

Sudachi is a small, round, sour citrus native to Japan closely related to more well-known Yuzu. Growing as a large shrub or small tree, Sudachi makes a fine ornamental for the garden or as a potted tree in the garden. Our plants are seed grown and not grafted, but seem to perform well in the sheltered garden in the Pacific Northwest. The plants we’re offering now are 1 year old seedlings, so don’t expect much in size for now. This plant cannot be shipped to Arizona, California, Florida, Louisiana, or Texas Cold hardy to USDA zone 8b and above, or to 15 degrees Fahrenheit.
Sudachi is a cross of Mandarin Orange and Yuzu. The unique, spicy juice from golf ball size Sudachi fruit is used to flavor soups, fish dishes and even ice cream and other desserts. Higher in Vitamin C than Lemons, Sudachi fruit is often picked green, when its flavor is most pronounced.
