This gorgeous perennial forms a lustrous, shining, groundcover of ever-green, bronze-tinted (larger than usual) foliage that reaches one foot tall and three feet wide. This handsome, easy-growing groundcover also provides bright blue-purple flowers in spring. A striking plant for the shade garden. PSh/M
Our favorite Carpet Bugle! BIG bronze purple leaves – BIG 8-12" blue violet flower spikes in May. Great ground cover, vigorous but easy to pull if it goes out of bounds – Looks good all year; easy to grow in sun to part shade with regular moisture, most soils – Easy to grow – Resembles a purple brocade carpet, lush and textured, in 3D!  USDA Zone 5  3" pot
Miniature mound of rippled shiny green foliage. Smooth green leaves are lance-shaped and moderately rippled. Lavender flowers in summer.
Ajuga reptans ‘Catlin’s Giant’ is a larger leaf Ajuga featuring deep-blue flower spikes and attractive bronzy-blue foliage. Deer resistant. Thrives in any type of soil but not too dry. Bugleweed is often used as a groundcover and is also useful for erosion control. Excellent for edging and rock gardens.
Another large cultivar. I have this ringing my pond and it provides a dramatic ground covering with very large flower heads.
Huge bronze leaves and tall (for an ajuga) blue spikes in spring. Looks nice below Philadelphus 'Aureus', Lonicera 'Baggensen's Gold' or the emerging foliage of Geranium 'Anne Folkard'. Bugleweeds are unendingly useful with their variety of evergreen foliage and lovely blue flowers. Use them as attractive groundcovers or tumbling out of containers from full sun to full shade!
Catlin's Giant' is twice the size (and has twice the impact) of most other Ajugas. Its deep blue flower spires rise 12 in. above large, shiny bronze leaves. Let this one loose in a rock garden, or plant it under Corylopsis for an overlapping, opulent display of blooms.
Much larger leaves and flower inflorescences than typical. Awards: Award of Garden Merit. Shown above (upper right)side-by-side with Ajuga 'Atropurpurea' .

A creeping, evergreen, perennial ground cover. Large, broadly spoon-shaped, glossy, green to burgundy leaves. Attractive, tightly packed, spikes of deep blue flowers are produced from Spring to Autumn. One of the largest and most floriferous Ajugas.

Burgundy-tinted large, glossy green leaves dwarf those of other Ajugas. The deep blue flowers are presented on 6-12" stems.
A great plant for shady areas blooming royal blue purple flowers in spring..growing 4-6 inches tall..spreading 12-14 inches.
Waxy bronze/green leaves which are much larger than other ajugas. Prolific. Bright blue 10" flower spikes in May. Excellent Winter accent.
