A deep glossy green much of the year, the graceful ?fingered?-fronds of this 1-2' very adaptable fern open a rosy pink in spring!; highly regarded and deservedly so. S-Sh/M/GDr preferred, though it grows in clay, too
Adiantum hispidulum is a distinctive maidenhair fern grows into a small, upright clump to about 17" high. The young fronds are rose-coloured contrasting with the dark green or green-bronze colours of the leathery mature foliage. It performs best in soils with high organic matter and plenty of moisture but will tolerate dry situations. Use among traditional woodland perennials beneath shade trees and in containers.
Semi-evergreen fern whose young fronds are pinkish red color that brightens the delicate foliage with bipinnate to tripinnnate fronds. Plant in low sun to full shade & well drained, moist soil. Zone 7 to 10. Height: 12” to 24”
Adiantum hispidulum is a tropical maidenhair fern with glossy, bipinnate fronds that emerge light bronze and mature to dark green. Forms an upright clump of tufted fronds. Ferns thrive in neutral to acidic, loose, richly organic soil which is moist but not waterlogged. Prefers bright, filtered sunlight and is excellent as a houseplant or in a seasonal container in a consistently humid space, such as a greenhouse. Protect from freezing temperatures!
Rosy Maidenhair Fern. Quite a lovely and adaptable fern nicely at home here in the PNW as well as doubling as a very suitable houseplant. Hardy here in the shade garden where the new growth has salmon tones and matures to a nice green. This is deciduous and makes fine clumps.
