Nursery contributed plant descriptions

Our second (or maybe first – we can’t decide!) favorite in the ‘Illumination’ series of “Foxglove” hybrids. Refreshing bright raspberry blooms with throats brushed a soft apricot are a bit smaller than its cousin, ‘Illumination Flame', but impressed us all the same with, we think, a more graceful, well-bred habit. Same crazy-long Spring thru Fall bloom season &, of course, humminbirds & bees! Forms a dark green foliar mound to 2’ across. Easy to grow, do give it good, loamy soil with compost added for best show. Adaptable to full sun thru bright shade. A terrific choice for a large pot (at least 20”x20”).
The Illumination series offers intergeneric hybrids between foxglove (Digitalis) and its Canary Island relative Isoplexis. 'Raspberry' has spikes of dark magenta-red flowers with burgundy speckled throats over the rosettes of glossy, dark green leaves. It is a long bloomer from late spring to frost.
