Helleborus x hybridus 'Amethyst Glow' (Winter Jewels series) is a broadleaf evergreen perennial with green foliage. In spring and winter purple flowers emerge. Attracts bees making it an excellent addition to pollinator gardens. Grows well with mostly sun - shade and regular - occasional water. Drought tolerant once established. Adapts to various soil conditions. Does well in average, clay, rich and well-drained soil. A good option if you're seeking something heat tolerant and humidity tolerant.

Deep dark purple petals with lighter lavender margins. This was the most exciting hellebore last spring in the nursery. These come from Northwest Garden Nursery, Eugene. OR. Marietta and Ernie O'Byrne have the most exiting hybrids of any we've seen. All of these hybrids are vibrant colors and it's exciting to see what new seedlings produce each spring. Northwest Garden Nursery doesn't ship their hybrids and they are only open 2 weekends per year, so it's your chance to get some of these beautiful perennials from our catalog. This gorgeous hellebore strain comes from the Winter Jewels Series bred by Marietta O'Byrne, one of the best hellebore breeders in the world.
