    Fouquieria diguetii plant details

    Fouquieria diguetii is a broadleaf evergreen or semi-evergreen cactus / succulent, shrub or tree with green foliage. In spring and summer orange and red flowers emerge. Attracts hummingbirds. Grows well with sun - bright shade and occasional - low water. Drought tolerant once established. Does well in average, gritty, lean and well-drained soil.

    Also known as the Boojum Tree or Ocotillo. Native to Southern California, Baja, and Mexico. Grows a nice bonsai shape, caudex has lovely peeling bark. Spiny Branches can get quite long but should be trimmed for best look if kept in a pot. Bright orange flowers at the ends of the branches.
