Nursery contributed plant descriptions

The most dramatic colors on this fuzzy leafed wonder. This beauty was given to us by our friends at Wilkerson Mill Gardens, a seedling they acquired from the Raulston Arboretum. It was collected in the Hubei Province in China by Mikinori Ogisu and named Koki. It does grow large in habit (currently 6' and counting in a nearby display garden). It's hardy in zones 7 to 9. The highlight of this wonderful plant is the burgundy underside of the leaf.
'Plum Passion' is a gorgeous hydrangea with burgundy foliage. The leaves emerge green flushed with purple and then age to a deep, lustrous purple with rosy purple undersides. The flowers are whimsical lacecaps with blue and/or pink flowers depending on the soil pH. Hydrangea aspera is a widespread and variable species that grows across a wide range from the Himalaya, across southern China and to Taiwan.
