Arching, dramatic deep burgundy purple strappy leaves to 2’ long (evergreen in frost free climates) make a nice garden statement. Large amaryllis like flowers in late spring are a yummy rosy pink and very showy (often repeats in Sept-Oct). Sun to part shade, moist well-drained soil.
Glossy, textured, dark purple, tropical looking foliage is topped in summer with 18 inch spikes of rosy pink, amaryllis-like flowers.
Crinum 'Sangria' is a tough hybrid between Crinum procerum 'Splendens' and Crinum bulbispermum. This hybrid displays the dark foliage of the procerum and the hardiness of the bulbispermum. This great plant grows 3 to 5 feet tall with dark maroon to bronze foliage. The leaves are narrow, long and will usually be upright when first grown out then later lay over. Plants will form small trunks with age. The flowers large pink flowers are held on at the end of a long bloom spike. Foliage: Bronze to dark chocolate colored narrow foliage Flowers: Pink flowers Height: 3 to 5 feet tall
Discovered by Scott Ogden, the famed Texan bulb Guru. The dark purple foliage makes a dramatic statement. Once established this will bloom in late spring and fall. This much sought-after crinum lily originated in 1983 as a cross of C. procerum 'Splendens' x an unknown C. bulbispermum (or hybrid). More winter hardy than other purple leafed Crinums. Bulbs are in their second year from Tissue Culture. Their base is about an inch across. They won't be full, blooming size for another couple of seasons, but the purple foliage makes an instant impression. Full size purple crinums of this quality have sold for hundreds of dollars.
Considered to be the only cold hardy red-leaved Crinum lily. 3-4" wide deep purplish-red strap-like foliage arches from the base and is topped by clusters of fragrant rosy-pink trumpet shaped blooms in summer. The Sangria Crinum was a chance discovery by noted bulb hunter and author Scot Ogden. Our large quart containers contain one large established plant (12-18"long leaves by 12"+H). Crinums are very long lived slowly multiplying clump forming bulbous perennials that will provide years of enjoyment in any well-drained soil. Drought tolerant once well established with few pests or diseases to bother them.
This is a much sought after purple leaved Crinum. It originated as a cross between C. procurum 'splendens' x C. bulbispermum. Because of the C. bulbispermum parentage it is the only purple leaved crinum cold hardy to Zone 7. Blossoms are 18" tall spikes of rosey pink flowers.

This is a cross between a hardy Crinum and C. procera splendens. It has burgundy leaves more narrow then C. splendens, but just as colorful. We have tested it to zone 8, but it is reported to be hardy to zone 7.
