Saxifragra fortunei is a herbaceous perennial with fleshy, rounded, lobed basal leaves, often reddish beneath and sometimes with flushes of colour on top. The flowers are produced in large dense panicles in late summer and fall and can be red, magenta, pink, or white. They make great specimens for containers, troughs, or the front of the border. 'Iyo no Hana' has magenta flowers with long, lobed petals in small dense panicles.
