This giant Brunnera looks just like the classic 'Jack Frost' except for it's size. 'Alexander's Great' will grow nearly a foot and half tall and two and a half feet wide! It has dramatic silver foliage and the dainty blue forget-me-not flowers that we love from this genus. Discovered by plantsman Alexander Zukeivich in his Belarus garden. This is a plant for a big garden or a big pot!
Introduced by Terra Nova Nursery from bred breeder Alexander Zukeivich, (who I imagine is pictured here!) 'Alexander the Great' has GIGANTIC silver-flecked foliage in comparison to 'Jack Frost'. Dainty blue forget me not like flowers are borne in loose sprays in mid spring. We've had this in the garden for 2 seasons now, and have been impressed with it s durability. Plants grow to 15" tall and 28" wide, and are happiest in well drained soil which has adequate moisture during the growing season. Deer resistant too!
From the garden of plantsman, Alexander Zukeivich in Belarus, comes 'Alexander's Great', a 15" tall x 28" wide clump of huge silver-filagreed, green, heart-shaped leaves. Early spring brings small sky-blue flowers that hover above.
