Nursery contributed plant descriptions

Aconitum 'Spark's Variety' is an upright monkshood to 4ft in height, with deeply divided, glossy dark green leaves and branching spikes of hooded, deep violet-blue flowers. Monkshoods are great from sun to part shade and offer a great way to get vertical spikes into shadier positions.
We like monkshood in general but this one stands out in more than one way. Besides the height, the numerous flowers on much braced stems are a deep violet. Looks amazing next to apricot or orange Alstroemerias. Prefers a moist soil, especially in sun. Blooms between the early (A. napellus) and the late (A. arendsii) monkshoods. Great cut-flower. Shipped in pots April through August. Please note that later in the season we'll have to trim them to fit the box.
