This compact deciduous shrub delivers all growing season! New spring foliage on this 2’tall and 3’ wide darling starts out bright candy apple red, transforming to glowing pineapple yellow topped by contrasty, dark rose purple bloom clusters in late spring. Foliage stays yellow green all summer. Adaptable, most soils, occasional summer water, sun to part shade; deer resistant, flowers attract bees and hummers, drought tolerant AND low maintenance!

Lavender-blue flower spikes in mid-summer on a compact plant that fits nicely into perennial gardens and mixed borders. Treat like a perennial in the north; it's a shrub or small tree in the south. Prefers full sun, average moisture. Fun fact: in medieval times, vitex was used as an anti-aphrodisiac- (that's where the chaste tree name comes from!)
