Nursery contributed plant descriptions

Mountain fly honeysuckle is a great native understory shrub that works great for shaded gardens. White flowers are lightly fragrant and produced early in the season, usually in late April through late May. Flowers are followed by bluish black fruit that birds will eat. Narrow medium green leaves are clean and look great all season through fall when they develop yellow fall color. This honeysuckle has a much more refined habit and is slower growing than the invasive tartarian honeysuckle. Lonicera villosa is rarely seen in gardens, and even more rare in the plant trade.
