NATIVE. Betula nigra River Birch 'Whit XXV' 'City Slicker' 40' - 70' Deciduous Shade Tree. Finally there is a white birch for the south! This is a particularly beautiful cultivar of river birch which and a farm favorite. 'City Slicker' River Birch is a new variety which shows extremely white bark as it matures. It is a cultivar with good vigor, drought tolerance and the classic, peeling bark of a river birch. The leaves of 'City Slicker' are dark green during the summer and turn yellow gold in fall. Canopy will develop an oval to rounded form. 'City Slicker' is said to be borer resistant. Low maintenance, medium to fast growing tree. Prefers a moist soil but will tolerate periods of drying out. Sun to light shade.
